Q: If I am not able to submit the OBC (NCL) certificate by June 5. Can I submit it at the time of reporting?

Ans: No, you can’t submit it at the time of reporting, since your declared result is also based on the category. Thus, if you do not submit the certificate by June 5, 2018, your result will be based on general category.

 

Q: After accepting a seat through JoSAA 2017, is a candidate eligible for JEE Advanced 2018?

Ans: In case someone has accepted a seat in any of the IITs, then he/she is not eligible for JEE Advanced 2018.

 

Q: What if a candidate has taken admission in IITs for preparatory course, would he/she be considered eligible for JEE Advanced 2018?

Ans: Yes, you are eligible, however, you must fulfil the other eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2018.

 

Q: What if a candidate has taken admission in one of the NITs in 2017, would that candidate be considered eligible for JEE Advanced 2018?

Ans: Yes, such candidates are eligible for JEE Advanced 2018, but only if they satisfy all other eligibility criteria for taking the entrance test.

 

Q: If a candidate appears in class XII for the first time in 2018 and doesn’t take JEE Advanced 2018, but wants to appear in JEE Advanced 2018 and 2019? Is it possible?

Ans: As per the rules on date, such candidates can appear in JEE Advanced in 2018 and 2019, but not in 2020.

 

Q: I am a defense service (DS) personnel. Would my child be considered for a seat under DS category?

Ans: Not all defense service personnel's children are considered eligible for DS category seats. DS category seats are earmarked for children of defense/paramilitary personnel killed or permanently disabled in action during war or peacetime operations.

 

Q: Can I modify my answers bubbled on ORS during the exam?

Ans: No, you can’t. Since the bubbling on ORS is done using only black ball point pen, you can not modify the answers once bubbled.

 

Q: What time shall I reach my exam centre to appear in JEE Advanced 2018?

Ans: You must try to reach your examination centre well in advance. For avoiding last minute stress, you can get familiarize with the exam venue by visiting it a day before.

 

Q: If I don’t appear in one of the two papers, will my result be declared?

Ans: It’s mandatory for all applicants to take both Paper I and Paper II. In case, you are absent from any one of the paper, you will be disqualified from the entrance exam and you will not receive the result.

 

Q: Are providing finger prints to appear in JEE Advanced 2018 mandatory?

Ans: Yes, it’s an important part of pre-exam procedure - taking a fingerprint of your index finger. Further, this fingerprint is used for the seat acceptance after you qualify in the exam.

 

Q: What all factors do I need to consider while providing finger prints to appear in JEE Advanced 2018?

Ans: It can be done in best way if your hands are clean and you have not used any oil/ cream.

 

Q: Is there any dress code to appear in JEE Advanced 2018?

Ans: No, though there is no dress code for the entrance test, however you must ensure not to wear unnecessary things such as rings, chains, bangles, ear-rings or any modern watch. Only simple analogue watch is permitted in JEE Advanced 2018.
